1 Introduction
BASLER A500k area scan cameras are high speed CMOS cameras designed for industrial use.
Good CMOS image sensing features are combined with a robust, high precision manufactured
housing.
Important features are:
CMOS APS (Active Pixel Sensor) technology
High speed
Electronic full frame shutter (True SNAP
TM
freeze-frame)
Anti-blooming
Electronic exposure time control
Partial scan
Programmable via an RS-644 serial port
Industrial housing manufactured with high planar, parallel and angular precision
VGA monitor output (A504
k/kc only)
Flash trigger output
1.1 Camera Versions
A500k series area scan cameras are available in different versions; the version depends on the
maximum frame rate and on color or monochrome.
Throughout the manual, the camera will be called the A500
k. Passages that are only valid for a
specific version will be so indicated.
