Acquisition Control AW00118302000
120 Basler racer GigE
Example
Assume that you are using an raL2048-48gm camera at full resolution (2048 pixels), assume that
you want to use the maximum allowed line acquisition rate (equivalent to the minimum allowed line
acquisition period), and the default value for C
1
.
Also assume that the other relevant settings are in accord with operation at 48.78 kHz.
The camera is nominally capable of 48000 line acquisitions per second (48 kHz) at full resolution.
Actually, however, it is capable of up to approximately 48780 line acquisitions per second.
Accordingly, the corresponding minimum allowed ExLSTrig signal period where overtriggering is
avoided is calculated as:
ExLSTrig signal period = 1/48780 [lines/s] = 20.5 µs.
Note that this ExLSTrig signal period equals the actual minimum allowed line acquisition period.
From condition number three follows the maximum possible exposure time that is compatible with
maximum overlap:
E = min. ExLSTrig Signal Period - F
E = 20.5 µs - 5.4 µs = 15.1 µs
Therefore, when operating the camera at a line acquisition rate of 48.78 kHz (involving maximum
overlap) and using the default value for C
1
,
the maximum possible exposure time is 15.1 µs. When
also considering the above condition number one, it follows that the exposure time can range
between 2 µs and 15.1 µs to be in accord with camera operation at a line rate of 48.78 kHz.
